Real hooks are shown as posted; account names are left out. Want the reasoning behind each pattern? The TikTok hooks guide ranks all 14 by views and saves.
How to use a generated hook on slide one.
A hook is a frame, not a finished line. This one kept every word but one when it moved from a personal finance account to a money app, and the app only appears two slides later.
Examples made by ClonBot to show what it does. We're not affiliated with these apps.
Pick two hooks from different patterns
Say a question and a list. Questions and quotes tend to pull views, lists and how-tos get saved. The hooks guide has the numbers for every pattern.
Fit it to your first photo
Change the nouns, keep the length, the lowercase and the line breaks. If it doesn't fit on three short lines over the photo, cut words until it does.
Keep the app off slide one
None of the hooks here name a product, and yours shouldn't either. Show the app on the phone in a later slide, where it helps the story. The comments will ask.
Post both and keep the winner
Same slides, two hooks, a few days apart. Compare each with your account's usual views, not with the numbers on this page.
Why start from your niche: it moves views more than wording.
We counted every slide-one hook in ClonBot's library of viral slideshows. The niche a hook was posted in explains more of its reach than the pattern it uses, so the generator asks for your niche first.
Median views of a viral hook, by niche
1,296 hooks in 21 niches. The pattern on the right had the highest median views in that niche (at least five hooks).

The gap between the busiest niche (beauty, 7.1M median views) and the quietest (sports, 1.4M). The best and worst patterns are only 2.6× apart. Compare your hook with your niche, not with the whole of TikTok.
The 357 hooks that talk to the viewer (you, your, u) had 3.8M median views and 3.8% saved, against 3.4M and 3.5% for the rest. Many formulas in the generator are written to the viewer for that reason.
Hooks split over two or three lines were saved more (4.0% against 3.4%) but seen less (2.8M against 3.9M median views). Split yours when the post is meant to be saved.
Of the 110 hooks that open with a number, 32 use five, far ahead of six, seven and ten. The number formulas use five too.
Want the whole post, not just the hook?
Type your app and ClonBot writes three slideshow ideas around it, hooks included, each one built on a slideshow that already went viral. Free, about 20 seconds.
No sign-up. Each idea comes with the hook, the slides and where your app shows up.
Questions about the hook generator.
What is a hook generator?
A hook generator gives you opening lines for a post: the first words a viewer reads or hears. This one is built for TikTok. It returns real slide-one hooks from viral slideshows in your niche, with their views, and proven hook formulas rewritten around your topic.
Is this hook generator free?
Yes. It runs in your browser with no sign-up and no limit. Press "More hooks" as often as you like; when a niche runs out of new hooks, it starts over.
Are the hooks written by AI?
No. The real hooks are shown exactly as they were posted, each with at least 1M views. The rewritten ones come from 26 formulas taken from real viral hooks, with your topic swapped in by fixed rules, so the same topic always gives the same set.
How many hooks should I test?
Two per post is enough. Use the same slides with two hooks from different patterns, post them a few days apart and keep the one that beats your account's usual views. Then write the next post in the winning pattern.
Do these hooks work for videos, Reels or YouTube Shorts?
Mostly, yes. They were collected from TikTok photo slideshows, where the hook is silent text on the first slide, so they read well as on-screen text in a video too. For a spoken hook, say the line and keep it on screen.
Should my app's name be in the hook?
No. A hook that names a product reads like an ad and gets scrolled past. Lead with the problem or the moment, show the app on a later slide, and let the comments ask what it is.
What if my topic isn't recognized?
The generator knows about 40 common topics and app categories, from budgeting and sleep to party games. For anything else it uses the formulas that work with any topic, like "[topic] tips no one is telling you". Short topics work best: "knitting", not "an app that helps people knit".
