How to market a party game app around the nights people plan.
Party games spread through group chats before a sleepover or a Halloween night. This is how we market Dronk, our own party game: a calendar of viral party formats, and where the game shows in the night.
Free, no sign-up. Type your game's name and get three slideshow ideas for it in about 20 seconds.
The short answer: party game app marketing works best as photo slideshows of the night itself (sleepover ideas, game night plans, Halloween at home) where your game is one plan on the list, on the TV or on a phone passed around. Post weeks before each season: party posts get sent to the group chat more than any other niche, and that send is the download moment.
Party posts get passed on, not kept.
We measured shares against views for the 1,332 viral slideshows in the ClonBot library. Party and nightlife is the most shared of all 21 niches.
Median share rate by niche
Shares as a share of views, median per niche, across 1,332 viral slideshows (52 of them party and nightlife).
So put your game in the posts people plan with. More niche numbers in TikTok niches.

Where a party game shows in the night.
A party game is played by a group, so the photo shows the group. The game turns up in three places.

On the TV
Everyone faces one screen, so one shot shows the game and the reactions. Best for quiz and music games.

A phone passed around
A hand holding out a phone. Dronk's card says "pass the phone to whoever you point at", which is the photo.

The card, then the proof
A card on screen, then a photo of the room reacting to it, and repeat. A "we played this at the pregame" post built this way got 4.3M views on an account that usually got about 5,100.
Our Halloween remake, slide by slide: the game is in three of eight photos and named in none.
The original "sleepover ideas" post got 3.5M views on an account whose usual was about 1,100. The mobile game marketing guide compares the two side by side.
Drinking game app marketing: sell the night, not the shots.
Many party games have a drinking mode. The viral party posts suggest leading with everything else.
party formats mention drinks, bars or hangovers in their text.
Median views of those posts against the 30 that don't. The sober nights travel further.
most viewed party posts mention drinking.
- Make most posts nights anyone could have. A drinking mode usually lifts an app's App Store age rating, so show the modes every viewer could play.
- Drinks are props, not the subject. A glass on the table is part of the room. A shot face on the cover makes the post about alcohol.
- Keep overlay text about the night. "The perfect drinking game doesn't exist" (455K views) sells the mood; the screen shows the mode.
- Give the drinks log a middle slide, never slide one.
The word-of-mouth loop, and where posts plug into it.
Party games grow by being played at someone's place. Posts start that loop in more group chats.
- Someone sends the post"tag ur besties" in the caption. The original we remade drew 1,008 comments.
- The group plans the nightThe list becomes the plan, with the game already on it.
- Everyone plays itEveryone at the night sees the game in use, and some of them host the next one.
- The night gets postedTheir photos and your next post show the game in another room.

|---|---|---|
| Mon | Halloween sleepover ideas | On the TV, slide 6 |
| Tue | Things to play at your next sleepover | One game in the list |
| Wed | Scary sleepover rituals, part 2 | A phone in the candle circle |
| Thu | Easy food for your Halloween night | Phone on the counter, mid-round |
| Fri | We played this at the pregame | Card, then proof, repeated |
| Sat | Halloween night photo dump | Group shot, game on the TV |
| Sun | Christmas sleepover ideas (start early) | Between pyjamas and presents |
ClonBot builds a week like this on autopilot with one creator and your real screens, and compares each post with the account's usual views. One post a day is Starter ($99); three a day for peak season is Pro ($249). See pricing, slideshow automation and how to market an app on TikTok.
Questions from party game makers.
How do I market a party game app?
Run a TikTok account as a person who hosts nights, and post slideshows of those nights built on formats that already went viral. Your game is one plan on the list, on the TV or a phone passed around. Post each season weeks ahead.
How do drinking game apps advertise on TikTok?
The posts that travel lead with the night, not the drinking: party posts that mention drinks had a median of 993K views against 1.8M for the rest. Keep drinks as props and the drinking mode on a middle slide.
When should I start posting Halloween or Christmas content?
Earlier than feels natural: viral Halloween posts went up 43 to 107 days before October 31, and the Christmas sleepover post on October 10.
What are good party TikTok ideas for a game?
"Things to play at your next sleepover" (5.7M views), "Halloween sleepover ideas" (3.5M), "Galentine's party ideas" (4.8M). Each is a list of plans, so a game fits as one entry.
What are good sleepover slideshow ideas?
Food ideas, things to play, matching pyjamas, a scary night, and seasonal versions of each. Our six sleepover formats have a median of 1.8M views.
Does ClonBot work for party games?
Yes. Dronk, our own party game, runs on it. Add your App Store link or screenshots, pick a creator, and it makes slideshows with your real screens on the TV or phone.
