TikTok drafts: where they are, how to post them, and how not to lose them.
Your drafts live in one place on your profile, and only on the phone that saved them. Here is how to find, finish and back them up, what to do when they're gone, and how apps send posts into your drafts.

Where are drafts on TikTok? The short answer.
TikTok drafts are in the TikTok app: tap Profile, then the Drafts tile, the first square in your post grid, with the number of drafts on it. Drafts are saved on the phone that made them, not in your account, so they don't show on tiktok.com, another phone or a new phone, and deleting the app deletes them.

Edit, post or delete a draft, and what each one does.
Edit
Open the draft to get back into the editor with your photos or clips, text and sound. Change anything, then Next and Drafts saves it again.
Post
Tap Next, check the caption, cover and who can view, and tap Post. The draft leaves the folder once it is live. After that, recent posts can often get a new caption through Edit post, but the photos or video can't change.
Delete
In Drafts, Select, tick the drafts and tap Delete, then confirm. "Clearing your drafts" means exactly this, and it can't be undone.

How to recover deleted TikTok drafts: usually, you can't.
TikTok keeps drafts only inside the app on your phone: no copy on its servers, no trash folder, no restore button. Support can't bring one back, and "draft recovery" apps can't reach them either. What can work is finding the files the draft was made from.
Where a copy might still be
- Your camera roll, if you shot the clips or photos with the camera app, or saved them before editing.
- Recently deleted in Photos or the trash in Google Photos, for up to about 30 days.
- Your old phone, if TikTok is still installed on it: open the draft there and save it out.
- A full phone backup from before. Restoring replaces what's on the phone now: last resort.
Back up a draft before you risk it
- Open the draft and tap Next.
- Set who can view to Only me.
- In More options, turn on saving to your device (the name varies by version).
- Post it. A copy lands in your camera roll, and the private post follows your account to any phone.
Photo mode slideshow drafts
A photo post saves as a draft with its photos, order, text and sound. But the backup trick above may give you a video instead of the separate photos, so keep a slideshow's original photos in an album of their own. Then a lost draft is two minutes of work. Drafts tile is missing
You have no drafts on this phone, or you're on another account or device. Check the menu on your profile too, then the phone you made them on.
All drafts vanished after an update
Update again and restart the phone. If they're still gone, the app's data was cleared, and the files can only come from your camera roll or a backup.
Why can't I post a draft on TikTok?
Most often the sound isn't available anymore, in your region or for business accounts, so pick another. Otherwise update the app, free up storage, and check account status for a posting limit.
How do I put a video back in drafts?
You can't move a post back. Save it to your device, delete it or set it to Only me, and upload the file as a new draft.

Where can I access my drafts on TikTok?
In the TikTok phone app: Profile, then the Drafts tile at the start of your post grid (in some versions, the profile menu). Not on tiktok.com or TikTok Studio on a computer.
Do TikTok drafts transfer to a new phone?
No, drafts are stored on the old phone, not in your account. Before you switch, post the keepers as Only me with saving to device on, or save the clips and photos to your camera roll.
Why did TikTok delete all my drafts?
Usually the app's data was wiped: a reinstall, cleared app data, a phone reset, or the phone freeing space when storage ran out. Recovery depends on copies outside TikTok, as above.
What does "clearing my drafts" mean?
Deleting drafts with Select and Delete. They're gone for good; posted videos aren't touched.
Can someone else see my TikTok drafts?
Not on your profile. Anyone using your unlocked phone can open them, so a shared team phone means shared drafts.
