Everything runs in your browser. The counter counts line breaks as 1 and most emoji as 2, the way phones store them, so it errs on the safe side. The link line only shows on accounts that have the link field: see how to add a link to your TikTok bio.

TikTok bio rules, as of October 2026.

Five limits decide what fits on your profile. Two sit outside the bio, so the name and link can carry words the bio doesn't have to.

80Bio characters

Spaces, emoji and line breaks all count. Tap return in the app to start a new line.

30Name characters

The bold name above your handle. Spaces and symbols are fine. Change it every 7 days.

2โ€“24Username characters

Letters, numbers, underscores and periods. Change it every 30 days.

1Website link

At 1,000 followers on a personal account, or on a registered business account. A URL typed in the bio isn't clickable.

2Social fields

Instagram and YouTube have their own fields in Edit profile, on any account.

Limits as of October 2026. A few accounts report a longer bio field, and TikTok changes features by region, so your Edit profile screen is the final word. To write a bio: Profile, Edit profile, Bio, type, Save. Need the handle first? Try the TikTok username generator. Choosing an account type? Read business vs personal.

What makes a good TikTok bio: one formula, four jobs.

Someone opens your profile because one post made them curious. The bio has a few seconds to answer their question: will the next posts be as good?

  1. June ยท plant tipsWho you are, in the name
  2. easy plants for dark rooms ๐ŸŒฟWhat you post
  3. one tip a day, no jargonWhy follow
  4. what keeps mine alive โ†“What to do next
Bio: 78 of 80 characters. The name line sits outside the bio and has its own 30.

Who you are. Put it in the name field, not the bio. "June ยท plant tips" tells a visitor who and what before they read a word of the bio, and costs none of the 80.

What you post. The topic, specific enough to picture: "easy plants for dark rooms" beats "plant lover".

Why follow. A promise about the next posts: how often, for whom, or what makes yours different. "One tip a day" is a reason. "Living my best life" isn't.

What to do next. One action. If you have the link, point to it with an arrow. If not, "follow for part 2" or "new post every day" works without one.

What is a 3 line bio?

A bio split into three short lines, usually what you post, why follow and the call to action. Line breaks cost one character each. The builder's "own line" switch makes one.

56 TikTok bio ideas to copy and paste.

Grouped by style. Swap the details for yours: a bio that names your real topic beats a clever one that could belong to anyone. Each shows its character count.

Bios for an app's creator account, hinting without selling.

App makers who grow on TikTok usually post from a person, not the brand. The bio follows the same rule: describe the person and their problem, and let the link do the rest.

The brand's bio

PlantCare App

@plantcare.official

The #1 plant care app ๐ŸŒฑ Smart reminders, plant ID and more. Download free now!

apps.apple.com

Reads as an ad, and the posts under it read as ads too.

The persona's bio

apps.apple.com

Reads as a person with a problem you share. The app is one tap away for anyone who asks.

Name the problem, not the product

"killed 4 plants" or "trying to spend less on my phone" is something a viewer has felt. The app is the answer behind the link.

Make the link line a reason

"What keeps mine alive โ†“" or "the app I budget with โ†“" is the line people tap after a "what app is that?" comment.

Founders can say it straight

On a founder account, "building the app I wish existed" is the story people follow. Add the day count to make it a series.

Example made by ClonBot to show what it does. We're not affiliated with these apps.

That is how ClonBot sets up app accounts: one consistent creator, a bio written for them, and slideshows built on formats that already went viral, with your real app screens on the phone. See TikTok slideshows for apps, or for an account without a face, the faceless TikTok guide.

Questions about TikTok bios.

What is a good TikTok bio?

One that tells a visitor what you post, why to follow and what to do next, in 80 characters. Specific beats clever: "cheap dinners in under 30 min" says more than "foodie". Put who you are in the name field so the bio can spend its space on the rest.

What's a cool or unique bio for TikTok?

One nobody else could use. Add a detail only you have: a number ("31 plants alive"), a place ("currently: Lisbon"), a running series ("day 112") or a habit ("reviews in 60 seconds"). The builder above writes them for 12 niches.

What's a funny bio for TikTok?

Self-aware and short works best: "professional overthinker, amateur everything else", "certified couch athlete, 5 years undefeated" or "I tried it so you don't have to ๐Ÿซ ". Make the joke about your topic, so it still tells people what you post.

How long can a TikTok bio be?

80 characters as of October 2026, counting spaces, emoji and line breaks. Your name gets 30 characters of its own and your username 2 to 24, so use them for who you are.

How do you create a bio on TikTok?

Open the app, tap Profile, then Edit profile, then Bio. Type your bio, use return for a new line, and tap Save. The website link is a separate field under Links.

Can you put a link in your TikTok bio?

Yes, once a personal account reaches 1,000 followers or with a registered business account, as of October 2026. Below that, a URL in the bio text isn't clickable. Our guide on adding a link to your TikTok bio has the steps and fixes.

How do I make my bio attractive?

Use short lines, one or two emoji as markers rather than decoration, and lowercase if that's your voice. Then check it on your phone: if a stranger can't tell what you post in three seconds, cut words until they can.

Can I copy these bios?

Yes. Every bio on this page was written by us for anyone to use, on TikTok, Instagram or anywhere else. Change the details so it describes you.

The bio earns the follow. The posts earn the visit.

ClonBot builds a slideshow every night on one that already went viral, with your app's creator in the photos and your real app screens on the phone, and posts it to TikTok after you approve.

Setting up your app and creator is free. Plans from $99 a month for 30 posts.
