TikTok analytics: where they are and which numbers matter.
Where to find your stats in TikTok Studio, what every number means in plain words, and what good looks like, measured on 1,299 slideshows that went viral.
Free, no sign-up. Three slideshow ideas for your app, built on posts with strong numbers.
TikTok analytics live in TikTok Studio. On your phone, go to your profile, tap the menu (three lines, top right), open TikTok Studio and tap Analytics. On a computer, open tiktok.com/tiktokstudio and choose Analytics. For one post, open it and tap the analytics button, or tap the post in the Content tab.
The numbers that tell you most are a post's views against your usual views (the median of your last 10 posts) and its saves and shares per 1,000 views. Followers and total likes tell you less than they seem to.

What TikTok analytics track, tab by tab.
TikTok Studio's Analytics has four main tabs, plus LIVE if you go live. Here is what each one counts and the one thing worth looking at in it.
Overview
- Post views, profile views, likes, comments, shares
- Totals for the date range you picked, with a daily chart. Good for spotting a spike; too blunt for judging a single post.
- Net followers
- Follows minus unfollows. A flat line with rising views means people like posts but see no reason to come back for more.
Content
- Posts and their views
- Your posts in order, with their numbers. Tap one for its full insights (the screen above).
- Top posts
- Your best posts for the period. The quickest way to see which formats work for you.
Viewers
- Total, new and returning viewers
- Unique people, not plays. Returning viewers are the ones starting to recognise you.
- Age, gender, location
- Check it matches who your app is for. A US app with a mostly non-US audience needs different topics, not more posts.
Followers
- Follower growth and audience
- Who follows you and where they are.
- Most active times
- When your followers are on TikTok, by hour and day. Useful once you have followers; until then, our best time to post on TikTok map is a better start.
How to read TikTok analytics to make a decision.
Raw totals rise with views, so a big post always looks good and a small one always looks bad. Two comparisons fix that: views against your own usual, and every action per 1,000 views.
Views: compare with your usual
Take your last 10 posts, sort them by views and pick the middle one. That's your usual. A post at 2× your usual did well, 10× is a breakout, and 10× plus 100,000 views is what we call viral on TikTok. In our library, the median account behind a viral slideshow usually got 4,773 views per post.
Everything else: per 1,000 views
Divide saves, shares, likes and comments by views, times 1,000. Now a post with 3,000 views and one with 300,000 can be compared fairly.
| Per 1,000 views | Bottom quarter | Median | Top quarter |
|---|---|---|---|
| Likes | under 74 | 105 | 145+ |
| Saves | under 19 | 35 | 52+ |
| Shares | under 3 | 5.3 | 9.3+ |
| Comments | under 0.2 | 0.3 | 0.6+ |
1,299 viral TikTok slideshows from ClonBot's library with all four counts, collected October 2026. These are hits, so the median is a strong post, not an average one. For a single engagement rate, use the TikTok engagement rate calculator.
Saves depend on the format. Guides and checklists in the library got about 50 saves per 1,000 views; stories and relatable posts about 13 to 14. Compare a post with your earlier posts of the same kind before you call it weak.
A 10-minute weekly review that leads to your next posts.
Checking analytics after every post mostly produces worry. Once a week, on a computer, with a note open, is enough to steer.
- 1 minUpdate your usual
Content tab, last 10 posts, the middle value by views. Write it down. If it's rising month to month, the account is growing, whatever any single post did.
- 2 minMark the week's posts
For each post: views divided by your usual. Anything at 3× or more is a winner worth remaking, under 0.5× is a miss. Ignore everything in between.
- 3 minOpen the winners
Saves and shares per 1,000 views, traffic sources, search terms. Note the format, the first-slide hook and the slide count. That's the thing to repeat.
- 2 minOpen the misses
Check one thing: did people stop early? Few photos viewed, or a steep early drop on a video, points at the first slide. Good engagement on few views points at the topic or timing.
- 2 minPlan the next week
Two or three more posts in the winning format with new hooks, one new test. Keep the posting rhythm; a pause makes next week's numbers harder to read. See how often to post on TikTok.
If you post with ClonBot, Results does steps one and two for you: every post is shown against your account's usual views, so winners stand out without the spreadsheet. The formats it posts start from slideshows that already scored high on these numbers.
TikTok analytics questions.
How do I see my TikTok analytics?
On your phone: Profile, the menu (three lines, top right), TikTok Studio, then Analytics. On a computer: tiktok.com/tiktokstudio and Analytics. For one post, open it and tap its analytics button, or tap it in the Content tab.
Why can't I see analytics on my TikTok?
Usually because the app is out of date, you're looking in the old menu, or the account is too new to have data. Update the app and look for TikTok Studio in your profile menu. Business accounts find analytics in Business Suite. Audience panels like follower activity stay empty until you have enough followers.
Why are my TikTok analytics not refreshing?
Insights update with a delay, often several hours and sometimes up to a day. Public counts on the post can be ahead of the analytics screen. Wait 24 to 48 hours before you judge a post or compare it with others.
What does TikTok analytics track?
Views, profile views, likes, comments, shares and saves; net followers; viewers (new and returning, followers and non-followers, age, gender, location); follower activity times; and per post the traffic sources, search terms, new followers and either watch time and retention (videos) or how many photos people swiped through (photo posts).
Can I see analytics for someone else's TikTok?
No. Only the owner sees their analytics. For other accounts you can read public views, likes, comments, shares and saves on each post and do the same per-1,000-views maths on them.
Is 2,000 views in one day good on TikTok?
It depends on your usual. For an account that usually gets 300 views, it's a breakout; for one that usually gets 20,000, it's a quiet day. Compare with the median of your last 10 posts.
Is 10,000 views viral on TikTok?
Not by our definition (10× your usual and 100,000+ views), but it is a breakout for an account that usually gets under 1,000. More in how many views is viral on TikTok.
Does TikTok pay $1,000 per million views?
Not as a fixed rate. TikTok's creator payouts depend on the program, the country and how people watch, and they're aimed at longer videos, so photo slideshows usually don't earn from views. For an app, the value of a post is the people it sends to the App Store.
